Two men, juvenile accused of stealing truck to smuggle immigrants
Two men and a juvenile have been arrested after police say they stole a truck to smuggle immigrants, according to arrest affidavits.
Oscar Hernandez-Villanueva, 18, and Rosalio Tovar-Torres, 30, were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity ? theft.
On Tuesday, Austin police were conducting surveillance on a 2003 Yukon Denali, which they said in the affidavit had been involved in several large truck thefts in the past. The trucks were stolen for human smuggling, police said in the affidavit.
You can read the rest of the report if you?d like to?but I?ll save you the trouble. The key word missing from this report and headline? Everybody?all at once: ILLEGAL!
I believe the word you?re looking for is ill-fucking-legal. As in ?criminal trespass.?
Reading their story, you might be under the impression that these young Canadian men (Hernandez-Villanueva and?Tovar-Torres are Canadian surnames, right?) were doing little more than giving a lift to a bunch of their fellow Canadian friends who were also totally-legally in the States. Their only crime, really, was stealing a truck.
The word you?re missing is ILLEGAL, Julie Chang (who, given her surname, might also very well be an ?immigrant.? Or perhaps her parents were. If she, or they are ?immigrants,? statistically they are much, much more likely to be LEGAL immigrants. You?d think a possible immigrant from China [or possibly Korea] would be pissed about a bunch of ILLEGAL immigrants encroaching on her LEGAL immigrant status).
Ms. Chang also?interned in Washington, D.C., working on the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
