RIM's BB10 devices to make official debut in 2013 ... - Know Your Cell

RIM's BB10 devices have taken their sweet time getting here and the wait is far from over. In a press release on Monday, RIM CEO Thorsten Heins announced that the BB10 launch event will take place on Jan. 30, 2013. Yep, another two months and change of waiting.

On the other hand, that feels like nothing in comparison to how long folks have already spent holding out for RIM to get its act together (OK, it might be a bit of a stretch, assuming that anyone outside of RIM has actually been in agony over BB10). In the meantime, Apple and Samsung have been making so many improvements to their own handsets that every three months is beginning to feel like Christmas.

Both companies have been successful in luring die-hard fans and new users alike with slick new smartphones, including the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3. Those bad boys are not gonna be easy to take down, especially given RIM's not-so-great history with BlackBerry.

In any case, we're curious to find out just exactly what the Canadian smartphone marker has up its sleeve this time around; Lord knows it had better be damn well innovative to keep up with current user demands. Heins, of course, is convinced it will go above and beyond expectations.?Here's what he?said about the BB10 devices in a release:

?In building BlackBerry 10, we set out to create a truly unique mobile computing experience that constantly adapts to your needs. Our team has been working tirelessly to bring our customers innovative features combined with a best in class browser, a rich application ecosystem, and cutting-edge multimedia capabilities. All of this will be integrated into a user experience ? the BlackBerry Flow ? that is unlike any smartphone on the market today.?
