Alaska is known for it?s long, cold winters.? In our family, we (half) jokingly say that winter lasts about 7 months and even the summer can be on the cool side.? Cold weather means drier homes and outdoor climates.? That nets us some seriously dry skin for a larger portion of the year.? There are days when a bath in lotion sounds like a good idea to tackle the dry skin epidemic!
That might be a thing of the past now that I?ve discovered NIVEA?s Essentially Enriched Lotion, available in bulk at Sam?s Club. (You can see the whole shopping trip and party in my NIVEA Spa Party Google + album.)
What better way to share my discovery than with a pampering spa themed get together with friends!? Food, friend, fun and a little de-stressing through activities that pamper ourselves makes for a wonderful mix.? And, we?d help to banish that dry skin, too!
With somewhat slick roads, some of my friends opted to not drive up the hill to our house for in person fun.? However, my one friend that braved the Alaskan roads and I had a blast both pampering our skin and enjoying each other?s company.
We made a wonderful pumpkin pie spice sugar scrub to exfoliate our skin.? It only took a few minutes to combine the sugars, spice and oil and then we headed to the bathroom for our pampering fun.
Following up the exfoliation with the scrub, we let our skin soak in the NIVEA lotion.? After a few minutes, we were left with super soft hands and no greasy residue.? NIVEA has a distinctive smell, but it is not overpowering to offset the wonderful smell of pumpkin pie spice.
Wonder how effective NIVEA lotion truly is? The bottle claims up to 24 hour protection and my hands were still silky smooth feeling the next afternoon.? Considering how many times I wash my hands each day, even I am amazed at how well it works.
Of course, we had to treat ourselves to a little indulgence along with some healthier food options.? And, we enjoyed plenty of great conversation about topics such as healthy living, changes in life, and homeschooling.?
My preschooler couldn?t help but come join us for some of the fun, too. He wasn?t sure what to make of the sugar scrub, but he had no problem digging into the food!
?
Seeing how easy it was to whip up the sugar scrub and the great value in the NIVEA lotion, I think I?ve found the perfect solution for holiday gifts?. pampering hands kits!? I sent my girlfriend home with her own set, although I plan to purchase small mason jars for the scrub for future gifting.
You can see how other moms are pampering themselves and others on the NIVEAmoments Pinterest Board.? Or, follow NIVEA on Facebook and NIVEA on Twitter.
How do you pamper yourself?
