LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - After filming a supporting role in the Natalie Portman movie "Jane Got a Gun," up-and-coming actor Jack Falahee is set to join Nicolas Cage in Image Entertainment's upcoming action-thriller "Tokarev," TheWrap has learned.
Spanish filmmaker Paco Cabezas is directing "Tokarev" from a script by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller.
Cage stars as a reformed gangster who must track down the Russian mobsters who kidnapped his daughter. Falahee will play a friend of Cage's daughter who knows about his criminal past.
Danny Glover and Peter Stormare co-star alongside Aubrey Peebles, Max Fowler and Patrice Cols.
Hannibal Classics topper Richard Rionda Del Castro is producing with Michael Mendelsohn, while Cage is exec producing with Patricia Eberle, Mike Nilon, Hayley Magouirk, Cam Cannon, Martin J. Barab and Frederico Lapenda, as well as Agnew and Keller.
Hannibal Classics handled worldwide sales at Cannes. Union Patriot Capital is financing the film, which is scheduled to start production in June in Alabama. Image will release the film in North America early next year.
Falahee is a New York-based actor on the rise who has booked several leading roles in New York features this past year, including "Lily & Kat" with Hannah Murray, "Blowtorch" with William Baldwin and Armand Assante, "Untitled Ari Gold Project" with Rory Culkin and "Blood and Circumstance" with Cynthia Watros.
A recent graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, he made his television debut this past winter opposite AnnaSophia Robb in the CW's "The Carrie Diaries."
Falahee is repped by Innovative Artists and NY-based Soffer/Namoff Entertainment.
