Speaking two weeks before the deadline for entries to the awards, Bruce-Gardyne, who founded the booming Genius gluten free brand, said:

?The award for Scottish Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the year is a really exciting opportunity for the terrific business men and women of Scotland to gain widespread industry recognition. Food and drinks businesses like Genius are doing really well, so I would encourage entrepreneurs in this sector to submit an entry for the award and gain the kudos they deserve.
?
?Scotland is an exciting place to do business, something I?ve learned after starting Genius and seeing the company grow. We now turn over around ?20m per year. The announcement that the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards are looking to name their Scottish Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year is really welcome news. Recognising industry leadership and the achievement of pioneers in the food and drink sector is an important part of driving innovation.
?
?There?s tough competition for businesses in the food and drink sector in Scotland and winning an award which carries the esteem of the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards can really help to set your company apart. I?d encourage entrepreneurs to enter the new award for Scottish Food & Drink Entrepreneur of the Year, which recognises the achievement of successful business leaders in this sector in Scotland.?

Organised by Scotland Food & Drink in partnership with The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, The Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards recognise those who are leading the way with innovation, enterprise and quality.?
