Large crowds lined Enniskillen's sidewalks last night, Friday, to share in the Erne Vintage Car Club annual charity parade - an impressive spectacle, which traditionally precedes the annual weekend run.
The long established venture - a hugely popular annual attraction - is this year supporting the British Heart Foundation Northern Ireland; local man Mr. Gary Wilson is Fundraising Volunteer Manager for the BHF charity.
The colourful procession - which was much appreciated by people of all ages - moved off yesterday evening, Friday from the Railway Carpark - its traditional starting point. Pre-war cars, bands, cars and tractors were in the procession which captured attention as it made its way through the town.
Other features of the special night included displays by Irish dancers and Highland Scottish dancers, while there was musical entertainment at the Diamond.
This morning, Saturday, the vintage and classic cars are getting their starter's orders from the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen, as they move off on the first leg of the annual run. They are due to travel to Monea, where they will have lunch at the Reade Hall. This afternoon, Saturday, they are due to travel to Kesh via Derrygonnelly, Belleek and Boa Island.
Tomorrow morning, Sunday. the vehicles of yester year will once again depart from the Killyhevlin Hotel to travel to the Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown for lunch. Afterwards they will bid their farewells as they begin their homeward travels.
